Welcome to my world. a world of dreams.

Welcome to the sacred haven I hold within myself, the visions that stir in my soul before I recreate them from behind the camera’s lens.

Welcome to A DREAM WITHIN.

— Jovana Rikalo

A woman in an olive dress walks away along a country road between fields, with pastel balloons floating above her under a cloudy sky. The facing-page introduction is transcribed above. Two dreamlike photographs: a woman in a flowing blue-gray gown lies in a flower-strewn wooden boat on dark water; a woman in a pale gown leans against a flower-filled white piano amid mist. Two photographs: a woman in a blue gown with a long, pink-flower-trimmed train lies on dark ground; a close-up portrait shows a woman with wavy pale hair wearing a white floral crown. Two photographs: a woman in a blue gown stands beside a stone bridge leading to a castle; a woman in a voluminous pale-yellow gown is surrounded by sunflowers. Two photographs: a blindfolded woman stands beneath a floating orange-and-green bouquet; a woman in an orange dress lies among white balloons with orange balloons gathered around her.A figure with large orange, black and cream butterfly-like wings lies on dark grass surrounded by small glowing lights. The facing-page text is transcribed below.

Spread your wings

My end is your beginning; we are a harmony. Our wings provide an enormous carpet of love where we share the good and the bad—together, always.

If people were to spread their wings and overcome their limitations, they would shine out the color of light, a yellow so bright that it would blind everyone around them. They would show the beauty they carry within them, and every person would shine in a different shade.

Safety. I know I am safe in your arms. I know this when I am sleeping and when I am awake. I know that together we shine different colors of our love, and I know that we will continue shining even in the darkest hour. That’s who we are. That is love.

We live in a world where wings are seen as a shield, a closed world. For me, they represent the outer layer of the beauty hidden inside, where everything is pure and where the soul shines out the color of light. People need to spread their wings and transfer that light to those who need it.

Imagine that world. We would collectively create a great light, shining out distinctive colors.

Spread your wings and show the world your fight and how special you are.
