So maybe you didn’t wake up this morning with the explicit intention of spending upwards of $100 on a pair of socks. But consider this: once you pair these socks with any outfit, you’re done. You’re done and—what’s more—you have instantly entered the street style photographer’s zone of interest. This is not to say that you should dress to impress street style photographers; these are just the facts. The good news, aside for the wool material and crystal and shell embellishments, is that these socks are made by a designer you’ll be happy to support. A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Grace Wales Bonner finds inspiration in her diverse background—her mother is English and her father is Jamaican. For her A/W ’15 collection, she looked to black visual culture for design inspiration, trying to subvert masculinity and disrupt the idea of European luxury fashion along the way.
