Product Reviews

Women like Janne are more than important, they are vital to the fabric of this society. She exudes strength and grace in a combination like few I’ve ever known and her words are reminders, often fierce, often gentle, to that deep well of power inside her. As long as she writes, I’ll read.

In a consumer society we are starving for the real and authentic. Janne’s words nourish that craving. If that which is spoken from the heart is sacred, these poems are like prayers.

Janne Robinson: Biography

JANNE ROBINSON is a 21st-century feminist beat poet. Her voice haunts with the legacy of Charles Bukowski, Jack Kerouac and Gloria Steinem. Her no sugar shit prose cuts with the simplicity and honesty of Bukowski and the romantic reliability of Kerouac. Her poetry leads like a woman, walking with fire in the footprints of Steinem—breathing sexual liberation, choice, and overall championing women to their birthright of not only equality but of leadership.

She notoriously states that her career is to “share slabs of her heart for a living.” Her ability to capture the human experience with unrefined sincerity makes her an incredible force in the modern landscape of personal expression.
Robinson’s films and art shit on the societal “shoulds” and norms and encourage people to “build your own box.” She is an outrageous idealist and master at effortlessly marrying the life she wishes to live with her work, and this enrages and inspires many who believe they are trapped.

Robinson’s foray into directing and the multimedia world was in directing a spoken word poetry film in NYC involving 18 women reading the lines from her poem, “This Is For The Women Who Don’t Give a Fuck.” The film was a viral sensation online and was nominated for the 2016 Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards.

Janne is very much so crowning at the beginning of what is and will be a triumphant career, and she has begun so with the hearts of millions indebted and watching, as it is rare to stumble upon a woman who makes revolution nature.

In The Wild

This Is For The Women Who Don’t Give A Fuck
This Is For The Women Who Don’t Give A Fuck

The women who are first to get naked, howl at the moon and jump into the sea. The women who drink too much whiskey, stay up too late and have sex like they mean it. This is for the women who seek relentless joy; the ones who know how to laugh with their whole souls. The women who speak to strangers because they have no fear in their hearts. The women who know their worth, who plant their feet and roar in their brilliance. This is for the women like Gloria Steinem who, when she was told, “We want a writer, not a woman. Go home,” kept writing anyway. This is for the women who drink coffee at midnight and wine in the morning and dare you to question it. For the women who don’t give a damn about pleasing the world, and do sweetly as they wish. For the superheroes—the single moms who work three jobs to make it. I salute your resilient, cape-flapping, ambitious selves. The women who create wildly, unbalanced, ferociously and in a blur at times. These are the women I want around me.
