If You’re Going To Buy A Hoodie, Make It One By This Worshipped Streetwear Designer

Stitched throughout Gosha Rubchinskiy’s designs is the same renegade spirit and fervent energy that course through the veins of Russia’s skateboarding scene—a subculture that directly influences and inspires Rubchinskiy’s clothes. Currently residing in Moscow, the Russian-born designer, photographer, and filmmaker, having experienced life in Russia before and after the fall of the Berlin Wall, was galvanized by this creatively curious youth that rose from years of oppression. All of his designs, including this hooded sweatshirt, remain loyal to his artistic vision and street aesthetic. The print featured on the front fuses the flags of Russia and China, and is a commentary on the notably peaceful relationship between the two countries that could have, just as easily, turned violent.
